Solving Hotel Recruitment Challenges: How Inspire ATA Supports the Hospitality Industry

The hospitality industry is currently facing a recruitment crisis driven by staff shortages, with vacancies being at their highest point this decade. How can the hospitality industry overcome the challenges its facing and gain new and qualified staff? Inspire ATA might be the solution.

What challenges is the industry facing?

The recruitment challenges of the hospitality industry relate to a number of different causes, including:

The COVID-19 pandemic

While half a decade has passed since the hight of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can still see its impact across all sectors. Many have left the industry due to the financial strain and lockdowns of the early 2020s, leaving the sector with less staff that are not being replaced at the same rate.

Shrinking talent pool

Competition for staff is intensifying, not just within the sector, but from other industries, leaving a smaller pool of skilled applicants.

Ineffective recruitment strategies

Many businesses struggle to connect with, and recruit, younger generations (Gen Z and Gen Alpha) who expect quick, digital application processes as well as additional value to their employment such as training or flexible working.

Inspire ATA’s recruitment solutions for the hospitality industry

In partnership with the Department for Education (DfE), Inspire ATA help recruit and employ apprentices on behalf of businesses. Through our unique staffing model, we employ apprentices on behalf of employers, making the recruitment and employment process stress-free for the business.

Apprenticeships are an enticing pathway for many young people who come in to the workforce, offering an alternative to a traditional university path which is more appealing to a younger generation. Apprentices come into an employment eager to learn and work and start developing their career.

Inspire ATA offers a range of roles to support the hospitality industry gain qualified talent.

Hospitality Team Member Level 2

A Hospitality Team Member can work across a range of hospitality settings including bars, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers. The role is varied, and individuals tend to specialise in an area and must be adaptable and ready to support team members across the business.

Develop your leadership team through Hospitality Supervisors. These supervisors provide vital support to management teams and are capable of independently supervising hospitality services and running shifts.

Commis Chef Level 2

A commis chef is the most common starting position in many kitchens and in principle the most junior culinary role. A commis chef prepares food and carries out basic cooking tasks under the supervision of a more senior chef.

Chef de Partie Level 3

Grow your kitchen staff by recruiting a Chef de Partie. Also known as a station or section chef, the Chef de Partie reports to the senior chef and has a very important role in any type of kitchen.
