Teaching Assistant Grace starts education career with Inspire ATA

Apprenticeships help learners from all backgrounds to develop their skills and enhance their career. Grace Owen is an Inspire ATA Teaching Assistant apprentice working at North Rigton primary school.

Grace chose to do an apprenticeship programme due to the hands-on style of the learning, as she explains: “I liked the idea of learning hands on, I’m not good in a classroom setting so an apprenticeship approach worked well.” Gaining a qualification while working was a big benefit of apprenticeships as opposed to paths like university for Grace.

Throughout her apprenticeship Grace developed a variety of skills but her growing confidence was a particular source of pride saying it is one of the most important skills she’s gained.

Grace enjoys working in the school, saying that the best thing about her role is “helping students and seeing them grow and improve.”

After completing her apprenticeship Grace hopes to continue evolving her education career through gaining a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification.

Well done Grace, best of luck in the future!
