23 year old Liam is a Teaching Assistant apprentice through Inspire ATA, where he has his placement at Thomas Bewick School, a specialist school for autistic children and young people in Newcastle upon Tyne.
He decided to do an apprenticeship to enhance his knowledge, gain skills working with children and improve himself overall. He is midway through his programme, which is delivered by Inspire ATA and LMP Education.
Liam is benefiting from the support he is given through Inspire and is enjoying his apprenticeship and working within the school environment.
In a recent meeting with Emily Nicholson, Liam shared his story.
The main benefits for me choosing this apprenticeship programme are to enhance my knowledge of teaching, find out what it’s like to be a Teaching Assistant and gain skills working with SEN children."
I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to be the best that they can be, and I feel that by supporting young children with SEN, I can contribute to this.
The team at Thomas Bewick have been extremely helpful in my progress. I greatly appreciate the feedback from them and every day my self-esteem improves.
