Lajla starts a teaching career through apprenticeship

Inspire ATA works to develop the talent of tomorrow through apprenticeships. One of the main sectors we operate in is the Education sector. supplying Teaching Assistants to a range of schools. Lajla is one of these apprentices, working as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in Evergreen school.

Lajla chose to start a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship due to her love of working with children. An apprenticeship programme was the best option for her as she stated, “I learn best from experience and hands on learning.”

An apprenticeship programme provides learners with the opportunity to learn as they earn which was a great benefit for Lajla saying, “the main benefit of an apprenticeship programme is that you get a qualification while also learning through experience and getting.”

Lajla’s passion for working with children has not wavered while working at a school stating that the best thing of her role is “the children that I work with and the teachers and staff who help to support me.”

Throughout her apprenticeship, Lajla was supported by her Inspire ATA tutor saying “I’ve had amazing support and such great understanding from my tutor. I’m always talked through every assignment, and they make sure I understand what it is I have to do before I attempt it.”

In this apprenticeship Lajla has developed her skills within the education sector, specifically working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Additionally, she’s developed skills for life as she explains “I’m learning how to work in a team, how to achieve deadlines and how best to support my own learning and what techniques work for me.”

After completing her apprenticeship Lajla hopes to go to university to get a QTS and become a teacher.

Best of luck in the future Lajla!
