Inspire apprentice Elif develops as a Teaching Assistant

Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to develop within your chosen career path. Elif Ceritli is an Inspire ATA Teaching Assistant apprentice working at Northway Primary school who used her programme to develop her career in education. Here is her story:

“I chose this apprenticeship after long research, I’ve seen a lot of good reviews, and everyone is supportive within the program which shows that the reviews are true and I’m very happy.

I decided to do an apprenticeship and not another route like university because I’m more practical than academic.

The best thing about apprenticeship is to earn while you learn and get more experience.

I’m most proud of completing my assignments and I developing more skills while working with children.

The best thing about my job is supporting the children and making them happy. Teaching Assistants make a huge difference to pupils’ lives, they get the right support from me and the teacher is get the help they need.

In my apprenticeship I gained social and communication skills, now I find it more comfortable to speak to children and support them as well as my team.

After finishing my apprenticeship, I want to carry on looking after SEN children in schools.

Well done Elif, best of luck in the future!
