Apprentice Rachel starts a career in finance with Inspire ATA
Apprenticeship programmes allow learners to gain hands on experience while studying for a formal qualification. This combination helps apprentices to apply their learning to their day-to-day work, developing a deeper understanding of their role and enriches their skills. Rachel Aguele is an Inspire ATA Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprentice at St Matthew academy. Here is her story:
“I chose to do an apprenticeship so I can work and learn simultaneously. I am more of an active over passive learner so actually doing what I’m learning helps.
The biggest benefit being able to apply myself at work. It helps me to understand my job and why I am doing it. The best thing about my role is being able to apply what I’m learning to my job role as an assistant accountant.
The most important skill I’ve learned is being able to efficiently and effectively communicate with stakeholder has taught me how to properly articulate myself.
After completing my apprenticeship, I plan to continue on to do a Level 4 accountancy programme.”
