Alexandra C is a 20-year-old Teaching Assistant currently completing an apprenticeship with Inspire ATA, hosted by Alexander McLeod Primary School.

She initially began studying teaching at university but found the workload overwhelming.

Alexandra discovered apprenticeships when seeking a less stressful alternative that better suited her lifestyle. An apprenticeship with Inspire ATA allows Alexandra to work and learn at the same time, and then apply what she has learnt to real-world situations within the workplace. This is only one of many benefits we offer our apprentices:

A main benefit of an apprenticeship programme is the experience of working with different year groups and children with learning difficulties. It’s challenging, but rewarding.”

A teaching apprenticeship is an incredibly enriching experience for both apprentices and the children they support. Skills and competencies gained from an apprenticeship will often also aid personal development:

“The best thing about my role is being able to see the growth and progress of the children – especially for the new starts in September. I also like how much the role has grown my confidence.”

Alexandra has decided to stay with Inspire ATA and complete a Level 4 HLTA after finishing her Teaching Assistant apprenticeship.
