Adult Care Workers can work across a range of settings including residential and nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres, clinical settings, supported living and people’s own homes. The role involves providing practical, emotional and social support based around the individual’s needs, preferences and care plan.
Adult Care Workers help people achieve their personal goals, maintain their independence and stay safe, while working closely with families, colleagues and other health and social care professionals.
Duties
- Providing person-centred care based on individual needs and preferences.
- Supporting individuals with personal care, mobility and daily activities.

- Preparing meals and supporting healthy lifestyles.
- Monitoring and reporting changes in physical and mental health.

- Communicating effectively with individuals, families and other professionals.
- Supporting the safe administration of medicines within the limits of the role.
